V8 Jetsprints NZ Stadium Event

The V8 Jetsprints are set to power their way into the Kiwi Summer in a way they never have before as ASB Baypark Stadium, Mt Maunganui, prepares to host the world’s first ever V8 Jetsprint races inside a stadium arena.

The Auckland Anniversary Weekend event has been two years in the making with the New Zealand Jet Sprint Association teaming up with event promoters, Jetsprint BOP and ASB Baypark, to bring this world-first spectacle to Kiwi audiences – a fast-paced, action-packed water sport event inside a land-locked stadium.

Jetsprint racing is an iconic kiwi sport so it seems only fitting that, as founders of the sport, the venue for the first stadium-based jetsprint race event is on home soil. Mt Maunganui is one of New Zealand's most popular summer destinations, and also well-known for its huge base of speedway fans, with ASB Baypark as its home.

Racing starts at 2.30pm right through until 10pm with up to 8 hours of spectacular, high-octane day/night racing. The stadium setting will give spectators a unique opportunity to get ‘up close’ to the racing action.

This event is not just for jetsprint, boating and motor sports enthusiasts. The thrills and spills will extend beyond the racing track with family entertainment planned throughout the day - on and off-field. The pits area will be open for limited period to allow parents and kids to check out the super boats and meet crews first hand.

Round Two of the NZJSA NZ Jetsprint Championship is shaping up to be a trans-Tasman battle with some Australian teams already confirming their entry to the event. As many as 50 teams from New Zealand and Australia will compete in three classes, including the V8 superboats reaching speeds of more than 125 kilometres per hour, and an impressive 0-100 1.8 seconds!

The Eventfinda Earlybird Early Purchase price offers Adult and Family tickets at $10.00 off the gate sale price. So, get in now and save!

Or perhaps buy now and give a ticket for Christmas!
