Greg Johnson New Zealand Tour

It’s been so long. 20 years in fact since the inimitable Greg Johnson made his mark on the NZ music scene with his breakthrough single Isabelle, which hit the charts and hearts of Kiwis in the early '90s. Liberty soon followed in the late '90s and earned him a coveted Silver Scroll songwriting award.

Since then Greg has continued to endear himself to fans with numerous plaudits including two Tui NZ Music Awards, eight top 20 albums and an extensive collection of hits including Isabelle, Don’t Wait Another Day, Liberty, Save Yourself, It's Been So Long, Now The Sun is Out, Looking Out On Monday, I Got Opinions and more.

To celebrate both 20 years of music and his forthcoming 10th studio album, Exits, Greg Johnson is returning from home base LA and is hitting the road in November with a full electric band to perform his trademark melodic and comedic shows.

Greg is looking forward to returning to NZ to tour:

“It’s been almost 2 years since I toured NZ and that was an acoustic band so this time we’re kicking it up to a five piece with drums and the full noise! I’ll be playing a number of tunes we’ve never done live before and of course the highlights from 20 years worth of albums as well.

“I’ve never been more amped about getting on the road and being back among my whanau again!”

The Greg Johnson 20th Anniversary Tour kicks off on Wednesday 14th November in Hamilton at the Meteor Theatre. Playing 10 shows all around the country, fans can see Greg and his full band in AucklandMatakanaWaiheke IslandMt MaunganuiNew PlymouthWellingtonDunedin and Christchurch City.

Supporting Greg on the tour will be old pals Ted Brown, and Kurt Shanks [Stellar*] playing material from their respective albums as a duo.

Band members on tour with Greg are: Ted Brown (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Wayne Bell (drums, percussion, guitars), Ben King (guitar, vocals) & Mark Hughes (bass).
