They're one of the biggest acts in the world right now and they're heading back to rock New Zealand for one night and one night only.

Yes, that's right - it's the Foo Fighters who will be hitting the Vector Arena next year and joining a whole host of stars set to bring Auckland alive!

From their self titled debut album back in 1995, the Foo Fighters (who took their name from a slang term for UFOs) have consistently shown they're one of the premiere acts within the world.

With frenetic live shows, the Foos have constantly toured in support of each release and as they unleash their latest on the world, "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace , it's no surprise that they're heading down under to bring us yet another blisteringly good performance.

The first song from the album, "The Pretender", has already proved popular both on the music video front and also on the radio side as well - and is an indication of the band's desire to expand their signature sound as well as a chance to work once again with "The Colour and the Shape" producer Gil Norton.

Their dates abroad will be a good chance to catch them before they headline Wembley Stadium back in the UK and no doubt head on to the festival circuit later on in the year.

Tickets go on sale 5 December. So how good do you reckon the show will be? And which song do you hope the Foos will be playing?
