Get ready. It's a double whammy of top acts heading to Auckland.

Tickets went on sale for Joss Stone's Auckland date at the ASB Theatre on Sunday 2nd December on Monday 29th October. Having wowed the European crowds, Joss will be arriving in Auckland to tour her third album, "Introducing Joss Stone" very soon. As if that wasn't enough, the veteran rocker Rod Stewart has also announced he is heading to Kiwi shores for his first tour in over three years.

With over 250 million record sales and a career spanning almost 40 years, Rod Stewart is the consummate performer.

His return to Australia and New Zealand in February/ March 2008 will be his first tour here in over three years. Over the course of Rod’s career the accolades haven’t slowed down. A Grammy Award winner, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and most recently a UK Music Hall of Fame inductee – each achievement attests to Rod’s considerable skill as a performer and his unflagging popularity.

One of rock music’s most enduring artists, Rod Stewart has produced hit after hit over the years including (in no particular order) Maggie May, Every Picture Tells A Story, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?, You Wear It Well and Stay With Me.

Rod Stewart’s 2005 tour drew rave reviews from the critics. The Sydney Morning Herald declared he still had the “skill and cheek to keep an audience entertained.” The Australian were equally smitten, gushing: “Stewart’s delivery was gift-wrapped with enough heart and soul to make it a Valentine’s Day to remember.” And The West Australian bowed before their leader, dubbing Rod “God Stewart”. Time after time Rod Stewart sells out shows in New Zealand, and no doubt this won't be an exception.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 7th November at 9am for the show.

Ever since Joss Stone burst onto the scene back in 2003, she's been showered with awards. Her debut album "The Soul Sessions" was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 2003 and went triple platinum in the UK. She's now sold over 10 million albums worldwide and her star status shows no sign of waning.

In fact, as if her talent in the music industry wasn't enough, she's also ventured into the world of cinema making her acting debut as a witch in fantasy flick, "Eragon".

In March this year, Joss released her third album "Introducing Joss Stone" to rapturous reviews - and a change of image. Notorious in the past for her barefoot performances (she'd fit in well over here during the summer months) and neo-hippy fashions, Joss dyed her locks purple to promote the new record.

As there's only one date for the City of Sails at the ASB Theatre, it's sure to sell out fast - and be a night to remember.

So, which show do you think will be better? And who else would you love to see heading over to New Zealand?
