It all began with a bunch of friends in a garage in South Auckland playing acoustic guitars. And it's great to see after the success here and abroad that heartland New Zealand gets the opportunity to see and hear Herbs in their unplugged format, stripped back as it was in the beginning. You will hear the true essence of their sound and witness close up the powerful songs that made them famous.
Since the 1980s the special sound of Kiwi legends Herbs has endured, defying changing times and musical fancies. Not only has the band made an outstanding contribution to New Zealand's musical history, earning a place in the NZ Music Hall of Fame in 2012, it also marked NZ history with songs that raised and championed social and political issues. Now we all have the chance to catch the essence of the Herbs sound when three of the group's long-time members tour as Herbs Unplugged, reviving their much-loved songs in an acoustic format with clear, uncluttered vocals and their unmistakable harmonies. They're coming to a venue near you.
