Combining alt-country, pop, folk, and rock, Pavlova and The Jandals is a collaborative project between five prolific Auckland musicians, all of whom play in other well known bands.
Featuring Fleur Jack (The Twitch, Kiwi Fm), Chris Howard (The Sproutts), Simon Ross (Yebiisu, We Dunno), Joel Vinsen (Black Sand Diva), and Todd Beeby (Kitsch, Dr Colossus, Coach), Pavlova and the Jandals has a diverse and distinctly Kiwi flavour.
The band formed in winter 2009 and recorded their 14 track album live over a weekend in ‘The Commune’ in the wild west of Waitakere.
With four songwriters, and such a wide pool of experience and style, Pavlova and the Jandals delivers a vibrant and original show, with band members swapping instruments between sets, having a laugh and generally keeping it tight and heavily entertaining. Their sound has been described as “I'll wash, you dry”.
