The World Naked Bike Ride is a once-a-year lighthearted protest or demonstration that is held in approximately 80 cities around the world.
This clothing-optional bike ride aims to:-
Highlight the vulnerability of cyclists to motorists who appear blind to our presence.
Promote cycling as an alternative to a "car culture".
Encourage a positive body image for all, improving mental and physical health.
After a preparation time at the Hotel, with body-painting and setting up banners and placards, the ride at Waihi Beach covers 12.5 Km from Waihi Beach Hotel, through the village, out towards Bowentown and return. It is almost completely flat and takes about an hour. Following the ride we celebrate over lunch and drinks at the hotel, with a naked rave to your fav sounds! Clothing is totally optional throughout the event. The motto is "As Bare as you Dare!"
It’s also fun and free!
