It's Summer holiday fun time at Ruakaka Racecourse on Friday January 5th. Round up the family and friends and treat yourself to classic summer memories and smiles with a fun-filled day trackside at the Trigg Family Fun Race Day. Enjoy exciting thoroughbred racing action while the kids are entertained in the free Trigg Kids Zone featuring Rockups climbing wall and bouncy castle, with loads of free activities and games at the kids tent. Gates open from 11am with the first race set to go at 12.26pm.

Our renowned master of ceremonies Andre Neill will once again be orchestrating the traditional kids competitions on the track including the popular tug of war against the Ruakaka Surf Lifeguards, and parents and kids alike can participate in the Camp Waipu Cove Coin Toss to win an accommodation voucher from this popular campground.

Relax and enjoy a drink under the shade of an umbrella whilst listening to local musician Tammy D'Ath in the Corona Courtyard between races or set up your basecamp on the hill or in the grandstand undercover. Bring your own rug and picnic or head to one of the cafe's or food trucks on course.

Look out for our on-course photographer Brendan from Langwoods Event and Commercial Photography on the day and get your family photo taken for free. Photos will be available to download from their website www.langwoods.co.nz after the race day.

Free entry for kids - Adults (18 years plus) $15. There is free carparking and free return buses from the Whangarei area, One Tree Point, Marsden Cove and Ruakaka Beach Motor Camp. Check out the website for bus times and updates.

The Ruakaka Racecourse is a no BYO alcohol venue - bags and chilly bins will be inspected on arrival.
