With one of the best debut albums of the last 12 months under their belt, Tamaki Makaurau quintet The Loving Arms bring their spellbinding live act to VillageMusic for an intimate one night only show on May 3.

Described by one fan as “Neil Young meets The National,” The Loving Arms have built an enviable reputation as purveyors of smooth but emotionally compelling alt country-soul ballads. Americanoir, they call it. Anyone who’s heard their album Dreaming Over You will know the band’s soul-stirring songs, quiet cool and soaring harmonies will make for a special experience in the old Mt Eden village hall.

This is music for broken-hearted night-owls tired of drinking alone and ready to once more brave the warmth of a new day’s sun and roll the dice for love.

As 'The Loving Arms' (Dominic Blaazer, Steven Shaw Bryan Shaw, Mark Beesley & Catherine Townsend), this quintet has been serving up a recognisably Antipodean take on alt-country-soul around Auckland since 2018 treating audiences to intimate evenings of stirring, mid-tempo balladry.

So as we say - Bring friends, bring family, bring your ears, BYO... and settle in for a real good listening experience. See you at the door.
