The 21 April show will feature, Luca Joass, Wandering Thyme, M J Kennedy and Don and The Divorcees
Luca Joass - You won’t find Luca any happier than with a guitar in his hands. He’ll play until his fingers are sore and his voice croaky. Luca grew up surrounded by the NZ folk scene, and quickly took to performing, taking inspiration from his folk background and bringing it a modern twist. Last year Luca took part in a project called “Te Wera to Sing” where about a dozen musicians each recorded a song to contribute to a collaborative album. This is set to be released later this year.
Wandering Thyme - Wandering Thyme is a family band originally from Oregon, USA, currently calling Wellington, New Zealand home. Their songs featuring fiddle, banjo ukulele, guitar, nourishing words, and homegrown harmonies. They have recently released an eponymous album on Bandcamp.
M J Kennedy - Golden Bay Blues/Folk singer songwriter MJ Kennedy is a “one man band” Performing on stage with a kick drum, tambourine and snare/clap pedal while playing guitar and Harmonica. This performance is part of his 8 shows tour promoting his newly released EP.
Don and The Divorcees - Don and The Divorcees is a collaboration among three of Wellington’s more interesting songwriters - Beans Maries, Hollie Wright and Don Mackay. They will perform a mixed set - “Crosby Stills and Nash” style. Expect lots of stringy things and harmonies, with a touch of alliteration on the side.
