This is a beginner workshop, Sew A Tote Bag for children aged 8+ . Kids get started exploring the first steps to sewing and they’ll finish the session with a usable machined tote or book bag. We sew using our very safe hand crank machines, learning French seams so the bag ends up nice and tidy inside and out. This is just the beginning! In this Sew a Tote Bag workshop we will provide everything needed along with funky fabrics to choose from.
Gracie Mathews is the best tutor to teach your child, she oozes enthusiasm for everything textile. In addition to teaching and travelling New Zealand for a fabric supplier she has her own business offering a variety of costume and sewing services including hire, manufacture, costume and sewing experience packages and continues to share her personal costume and textile collection through symposiums, events and exhibitions.
Who is this workshop designed for?
This sewing workshop is for all children who want to give sewing a go!
Children must be aged 8+ years old. Please do not register children under the age of 8 in this class.
What to bring?
All art related materials are included in the fee.
Children can bring a water bottle and snacks.
