Duncan Connors will be speaking about his personal experiences of working to bring back passenger rail to New Zealand.
Passenger rail is the only feasible future transport option for New Zealand.
If government, business and society work together in the interests of the country and its citizens, passenger rail is cheaper than either travelling by the car, bus or plane.
The climate is changing. Fossil fuels are disappearing. We want to continue travelling and have prosperous lives.
New Zealand is perfect for passenger rail. With a developed network that connects major cities we could use the best technology from countries with the same type of railway as our own. We do not need to spend billions of dollars - the trains, track and signalling that already exist in Japan, Australia, Taiwan and South Africa could revolutionise train travel in New Zealand.
A new age of passenger rail is the only way forward for New Zealand
