Predator Free 2050 Limited is a Crown-owned, charitable company established to help deliver the New Zealand government’s ambitious goal of eradicating possums, stoats, and rats by 2050.

They are currently funding 18 large landscape projects, over 750,000 hectares across a mix of rural and urban geographies. Already, over 55,000 hectares have been cleared and are now being defended using a suite of tools and technology developed and brought to market through Predator Free 2050 Limited’s Products to Projects funding. Predator Free 2050 Limited is investing $75.6 million towards total project costs. They are also funding breakthrough science guided by our Research Strategy.
Join us for a talk with Prof Dan Tompkins
As Science Director for Predator Free 2050 Ltd, Dan builds and supports research and development portfolios providing new tools and approaches for getting the Predator Free 2050 job, of eradicating possums, rats, and mustelids from the whole of New Zealand.
The scale of the PF2050 mission means new solutions and approaches are needed. PF 2050 Ltd has invested $14m to date on new tools and science research programs specifically targeted to help develop the innovative solutions and approaches required.
Dan Tompkins will outline what’s been achieved to date, what new tools are available, and what’s on the horizon.
