A special class just for the summer holidays, this 3 hour class is held in our Ōtaki studio with jeweller Claire Mc Sweeney.
Claire's own work celebrates the native flora of Aotearoa.She is also a fabulous tutor, super patient and friendly and her students get excellent results.
You will begin with copper and brass to practice applying textures, then quickly move on to work in sterling silver. You'll learn to cut, heat and apply textures that mimic the textures of nature.
Print feathers and dried grasses into your metal. Use hammers to create water and bark like patterns. Choose your favourite technique and create a beautiful silver ring that gives you a lasting memory of your summer holiday.
