Immerse yourself in a world of possibility with this full day-class with Vaune Mason.
With 20+ years experience in both jewellery and wearable arts, Vaune has a treasure trove of knowledge and experience to share. Working from her home studio, you will be guided through a basic understanding of some of the best natural and foraged materials to work with when making jewellery.
Materials like Paua shell, beach stones, recycled and offcuts of beautiful timbers and more. Students will be shown how to work safely with these materials, and quick and simple techniques to shape the pieces and bring out their beauty.
You can bring your own found items to the course, but Vaune will guide you as to what items are acheivable to work with on the day. Combine with sterling silver to create fittings and elements that complete and elevate your work.
Practice your techniques with copper or brass - or use those materials in your finished pieces if you wish. This course is open to complete beginners and advanced makers.
All materials provided, and extra materials such as silver, chains and findings available to purchase. If you have jewellery tools, such as files or a dremel or similar, that you hope to work with at home, please let us know and bring them along if you can.
This is a full day course, tea and coffee provided but please bring your own lunch.
