Lunar New Year Festival - Cultural show

Part of the 2024 Lunar New Year Festival to mark the Year of the Dragon.

A five-hour cultural extravaganza of showcasing the diversity of the talents of Wellington’s community groups. TSB Arena’s stage will light up with a captivating programme of song, dance and music – a visual feast of traditional and contemporary performances.

Our cultural showcase offers something for everyone - the elegance of classical dance to exhilarating display of martial arts, contemporary and hip hop dance, melodic sounds of guzheng instrumentalists and the powerful beating drums of percussionists, pop singers and Chinese Opera performers.

To mark the most auspicious Year of the Dragon, the cultural entertainment programme will open with Enter the Dragon, a series of performances inspired by representations of the Dragon in visual art film and sculpture. This will be followed by community group performances.
