Tailored for children aged 6 and above, this workshop serves as an extension of the Wildeye exhibition. Children will have the chance to visit the exhibition and draw inspiration from a panel featuring 40 self-portraits.
During the workshop, Robbi Carvalho will provide a brief overview of the reused wood panels used for painting, emphasizing their origin from waste in commercial industries and the construction sector. To ignite creativity, she'll showcase portraits by renowned artists such as Robyn Kahukiwa, Rita Angus, Frida Kahlo, Cristina Daura, Os Gemeos, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Laurent Moreau, Ruud Van Empel, Salvador Dali, and Shinya Okayama. This serves not only to demonstrate various forms of expression but also invites children to appreciate the richness of diversity.
Her focus will not be on technical precision but on encouraging a creative exploration of how they perceive themselves and express their personalities. Each child, in a group of 10, will have a mirror to observe themselves with curiosity and without haste.
Once their designs are defined, participants will have the opportunity to choose specific elements from their artwork to accentuate, applying the gold leaf. It's a journey of self-discovery and artistic expression that celebrates uniqueness and imagination.
