Explore how to appropriately structure and polish your CV and cover letter in order to achieve optimum results. This course prioritises you. Identify your key skills and weave these into your CV and cover letter to land you your next job interview.
Whatever job you are going for, there are key characteristics that should not be missed in your CV and cover letter. The focus of this course is to provide you with the same lens as a recruiter. By learning how your job application is reviewed by a recruiter, you will gain skills to streamline your CV, and improve your cover letter writing. This will increase your chances of being a successful candidate and sets you up to land an interview for your ideal job.
It doesn’t matter what previous experience you have - everyone has a range of skills that they can offer to their future employer. Fortunately, a strong a realistic CV and cover letter will showcase these skills and increase your chances for job success.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Recognise the features of an effective, well-crafted CV and cover letter and apply these to your own job applications;
- Apply different approaches, styles and techniques while writing your CV and cover letter depending on the context and job;
- Help others with their CV and cover letter writing (friends and whānau).
Note: You must be a NZ citizen or resident to qualify for the free course fee option. A condition of enrolment is that you must provide photo ID when you attend, unless you have already provided your NSN number at the time of registration (in which case photo ID is not required). If you enrol for this course and then do not attend, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to enrol again for free for a funded course in the future.
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly. Prerequisites
There is no prior knowledge or experience required. This course is applicable to all levels of candidate experience - it doesn’t matter if the participant is applying for their first ever job, or they are well experienced in the job market. I tailor my content to empower everybody regardless of their previous experience or job experience.
