Farm Walk 5 in the Series leaves the Woolshed and ascends quietly along a grassy farm track, slowly gaining height until the views, gradually creeping up on you, are vast and amazing! Out across the Te Horo plain to the Tasman Ocean, up and down the wide and braided Otaki River, across to the Tararua's, and north towards Levin and the broad arc of the Coast to Whanganui. and that is at 318m.! You have the option then to amble slowly back down, or to continue the circuit slowly higher to 600m, even more and different views, before the slow descent through bush and farmland back to the Woolshed. A cup of tea awaits you! Bring an extra layer in case of weather changes, good robust footwear, and maybe a snack for halfway! No dogs allowed sorry.
