Summer Sprint with Daffodils and Wiri Donna - Raglan - The Yard, 18th January 2024 Wiri Donna and Daffodils are heading to Raglan this Jan to kick off 2024 before both bands release new music.
2023 was huge for both Auckland based Daffodils and Wellington based Wiri Donna. Daffodils shared stages with global acts from Foals to Orville Peck, headlined nationwide, and rocked festivals like Laneway, Nest Fest, and Rhythm & Vines. Wiri Donna supported Fontaines D.C, Skegss, & The Beths, shining at Rhythm & Vines, Twisted Frequency, and earning a finalist spot for the Taite Music Prize. Now, they unite for the Summer Sprint!
Daffodils are one of those bands that everyone thinks they discovered first. Their debut EP “Boys” dropped in 2019 BC (Before COVID-19) and the future was bright. New Zealand’s best kept secret. Since the release of that EP it’s fair to say the world as we know it (and the band themselves) have fundamentally changed.
Wiri Donna’s journey from indie folk to alt rock has been nothing short of electrifying. Led by songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, Bianca Bailey, and featuring the incredible talents of Harrison Scholes (Arjuna Oakes, TOI), James MacEwan (Arjuna Oakes), and Elliott Dawson, this four-piece powerhouse has unparalleled energy.
