For our first MTA of the year, we will be proud to host local music legend, Mike Chunn CNZM. While Mike is perhaps most well-known as a founding member of Split Enz and Citizen Band, his most recent focus has been on fostering young NZ songwriters through his organisation ‘Play it Strange’. Via this charity, some of Mike’s winning songwriters have worked with Auckland Philharmonia instrumentalists to create beautiful recordings and collaborations. Mike has written several books, including his own memoir, ‘A Sharp Turn Left’. He is interviewed regularly on TV, radio and writes articles for leading newspapers and magazines.
Mike will introduce us to two Play it Strange singer-songwriters who will perform their original music.
