Image Auckland [tamaki makaurau] in partnership with Eke Panuku Development is stoked to present a curated selection and the winning photographs from hundreds of submissions to 2023's Music Photography Award | Whakaahua Puoro Toa.
This outdoor exhibition is part of AFP's ongoing commitment to create experiences with images that inspire, connect, and educate, whilst supporting the Aotearoa NZ music photography scene. The images in 2023's Music Photography Award were taken by professional and amateur photographers at live gigs, concerts and festivals, backstage, and community events. All genres and styles of photography were welcome as long as they were music related.
Entries were judged by Robert Knight, NZ/USA rock photography master. This year's Queens Wharf exhibition has been curated by the Festival team.
