Back for 2023!
Once again over Mother’s Day weekend, the Waimumu Art Exhibition is being held, attracting new, emerging and established artists from around New Zealand. This is always a great weekend showcasing beautiful art pieces and a community vibe that you don’t want to miss out on!
This year we are delighted to introduce our guest artists, Lynn Grace and Annie Bourque.
Grace is a proud Southlander whose artistic passion is inspired from the beautiful southern landscapes, particularly Fiordland. Grace's work in oils beautifully emphasise the light and form of the landscape while her pastel and graphite pieces are intricately drawn capturing the detail and evocative emotion/mood of a moment. Grace is a great advocate for the art community and encourages all artists to keep on the brush as such expression and creativity inspires others and brightens the society we live in.
Bourque's work draws its influence from the rural, working in mediums such as clay and wire. Annie subverts these elements to create narratives based on notions of community and the environment. The finished works capture the essence of the life cycles of everyday rural life. Annie is a multi- disciplined artist who is constantly experimenting with mediums as well as working collaboratively with other artists. Bourque’s artworks are held in public and private collections nationally and internationally.

We are just a 10-minute drive from Gore; are central to all art lovers in Southland and Otago. Our Exhibition is known for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere and inspiring art pieces. Come and enjoy a Devonshire Tea, adding to the experience that is known as Waimumu Arts. We look forward to seeing you once again.
