Excitement is building as the Otago Art Society gets prepared to host the prestigious 2023 National Cleveland Art Awards. This is the fourth time that this biennial Exhibition has been held attracting high quality art entries from across New Zealand - competing for a prize pool of $15,500. Works cover an exceptional range of artistic genre and disciplines, celebrating the countries artistic diversity.
Awards will be presented across three categories. Painting and 2D media; printmaking; photography/digital works and #D works including sculpture; jewelry; homeware and textiles.
Due to the popularity of this Exhibition, a panel of 3 Judges from the wider Art community, were tasked with selecting the works, this from nearly 430 entries which would feature in the final exhibitors. A huge task with so many fine arts examples, from so many diverse genre.
This is an extremely high profile exhibition, and it opens to the Public at 10am Saturday 6th May. This gives not only the Art lovers from Dunedin but also from the wider Otago and New Zealand regions an excellent opportunity to view a large variety of Art works from over 150 New Zealand Artists in the iconic Dunedin Railway Station. Entry is free and all works are for sale. The exhibition runs every day from the 6th May until it closes June 3rd 2023
