Speaking the Unspoken is a panel discussion held as part of the opening night of Samesame but Different 2023 - a festival celebrating queer readers and writers.
Join our authors as they get the opportunity to finally get the conversation they have never had off their chests!
We’ve all been there. The “I should have said” moment as you reflect on a heated dinner date debate. The perfect clap-back that comes to mind a few seconds too late. Or the missed opportunity to say something that might (or might not) have made all the difference as you stood at life’s crossroads.
For this panel event, same same's 2022 Honoured Writer Courtney Sina Meredith is joined by queer writers including poet and painter Rebecca Hawkes, writer, broadcast journalist and historian Paul Diamond, poet Vanessa Vanessa Mei Crofskey, fiction writer Anthony Lapwood and comedian, writer and book-pusher Ray Shipley to share a letter, a poem, or a tell us a tale about something that they wished they’d said. Who knows who might be listening?
