Join the New Zealand Sea Lion Trust in partnership with Tūhura Otago Museum for a fascinating talk from Dr Simon Childerhouse on his research into sea lions in the Catlins.
Dr Childerhouse completed his PhD on the conservation biology of the New Zealand sea lion while working for DoC as a Senior Marine Mammal Scientist.
This included leading multiple trips to the Subantarctic Islands. He currently works for the Cawthron Institute and recently conducted a satellite tagging study on female sea lions in the Catlins.
Simon will be sharing some of his subantarctic experiences with us and will summarise the findings of his Catlins-based research.
