Four Live Bands to Perform at Manchester Square for a Day of Free, Community Music - Spring Music Fest’23 – Feilding.

Get ready for an unforgettable day of live music at the Spring Music Fest`23, taking place on Sunday 8th October 2023 in Manchester Square from 11am to 4pm. Part New Zealand’s Spring Music Celebration. This is a free community event with a spectacular line up!

11am: The opening act of the day will be performed by Feilding Brass, a band with a remarkable 130-year history of serving the community. Recently, a new musical director named Iraja Max Haas da Silva (Max) has joined the band and will lead the performance. The band will play a mix of upbeat, popular music and traditional brass numbers.

12:30pm: "Please Do Not Touch", a professional covers band from within the region, will take the stage, delivering an electrifying performance. With their high-energy set, they will showcase a repertoire of classic favourites spanning from the 70`s to the latest chart-toppers. Lead singer 'Shar' expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "The band is excited to perform. As a professional band we usually perform at weddings and a wide range of functions. Community events hold great significance within the music scene and enable musicians to perform with unrestrained passion for their art. We have been in rehearsal, eager to deliver to our audience".

2:00pm: The spotlight will be on the local band “Uprising”, hailing from Fielding and Marton. Their music, primarily rooted in Reggae, is a dynamic blend of old school, funk, rock, and groove, as described by drummer and music teacher Richard Munt. With a repertoire encompassing both originals and covers, Uprising eagerly anticipates their debut at the Music Festivals & Events Spring Fest’23 series. Don't miss this opportunity to experience their diverse musical influences first hand.

3:00pm: Back by popular demand, a true finale! Experience the awe-inspiring talent of Sparkle, a versatile 5-piece covers band with exceptional female vocals, renowned for their wide musical range and ability to tailor their repertoire for the occasion. With years of experience and a seamless musical synergy, Sparkle effortlessly explores genres such as blues, easy listening, and rhythm and blues, captivating audiences.

The Feilding event, organized by Music Festivals & Events NZ, is a celebration among a series of seven events held throughout October. Event organizer Chris Craddock expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing the significance of providing free, live community events featuring performances by professional calibre musicians. We will be providing a free children’s bouncy castle for this event.
