'Menopause with Mates' - a 6-part workshop series for those experiencing perimenopause or menopause, those supporting others going through this life stage, or those who'd like to be 'in the know' before it happens!

At each bi-monthly session, there'll be good quality, evidence-based information shared by a speaker who works locally, along with an opportunity to connect with others in this phase of life.

Perimenopause is not all hot flushes and night sweats. Did you know that thinning hair, itchy skin and an increase in allergies are all possible in perimenopause? What about heightened anxiety, panic attacks and electric shocks? It’s absolutely fascinating (if not fabulous) all of the different body systems that are impacted by the change in hormone levels.

Information is power, and although not every woman (and those with female hormones) encounter every possible symptom, it can be helpful to understand what some of the common experiences can be and how and when to intervene.

It is also not all about problems and struggles. There will be time to consider what this time of life can offer, how it can lead to better things and the preparation that can be helpful before, during and after perimenopause.

October 16th - Pelvic health physiotherapists, Bev Hampton and Nari Dhruv, will expertly inform on caring for our female parts, inside and out.

December 6th - Jo Wall, mental health occupational therapist and talking therapist will share on all things neurological - mood swings, anxiety, brain fog anyone?

February 21st - Dr Ala Farah, a GP with a special interest in women's health, holistic and lifestyle medicine will be the speaker.

Subsequent sessions, at approximate two-month intervals, will include talks on hormonal management, nutrition, movement and relationships.

No need to register. Come alone, or bring your mates to 'Menopause with Mates' - to one or each of the sessions. Tea & coffee provided for chatting and connecting with speakers and other participants at 8:00-8:30pm.

$20 per person door charge at each session - payable by cash or Paywave.

Venue; Hamilton Girls High School staffroom - accessed via Main Reception, near Ward St carpark.
