Linden Singers "Verse & Versatility " Concert

Beautiful musical verse and versatility will fill the program of the Linden Singers’ November concert.
Well-known Hawke’s Bay musician, Jane Pierard, has been working with the Linden Singers over the past year and has chosen some very special music for this concert. A highlight will be her own composition - a beautiful choral setting of Shakespeare’s famous Sonnet 116, which begins “Let me not to the marriage of true minds…..” Don’t miss this premiere performance!

Another highlight is Hone Tuwhare’s ”Rain,” in which the composer uses vocal lines and piano accompaniment to create the sound of gently falling rain. The program will have something for everyone to enjoy: poetry, swinging jazz, popular show tunes, devotional music from 16th to 20th century, contemporary songs and some Christmas music as well. Do come, and bring a friend!
