Northshore Kizomba is offering 4 week Kizomba Basic and Intermediate Course!

✶Basic Kizomba
11:30am - 12:25pm
Duration - 4 weeks, June 18th - July 9th

Come and learn the basic steps of Kizomba, a sensual partner dance, originating from Angola. Kizomba is a dance that is all about connection with a partner. You are welcome to join in as an individual, or bring along a partner to learn with you. The aim of the course will be to build your confidence in the basic moves of Kizomba.

The fundamental Kizomba topics we will cover are:

*The basic step / weight transfer / hip
movement / figure eight
*Marca
*Saida half and full + variations
*We will touch on Semba, and Tarraxinha,
but most of our focus is on Kizomba

You will be individually working on the steps, but also practicing partner dance
The aim of the course will be to get you ready for the social dance floor, as you will be equipped with the Kizomba fundamentals.

✶Intermediate Kizomba
12:35pm - 1:30pm
Duration - 4 weeks, June 18th - July 9th

Extend your base of Kizomba steps and moves, and gain more confidence for the social dance floor. The focus of this course is Kizomba Fusion; a blend of Kizomba, with other contemporary dances. You are welcome to join the class, if you have already done some classes in Kizomba (as an individual, or with a partner).

The Intermediate Kizomba topics we will cover are:

*Saida, and Saida variations
*Connection with your dance partner,
axis, marca
*We will touch on Kizomba (roots), and
Urban Kiz, but most of our focus is on
Kizomba Fusion
*The elegance and the sensual focus of
Kizomba Fusion
*Musicality

We will also teach you some dance tricks
The aim of the course is to further your confidence to dance with a partner on the social dance floor. You will have expanded your dance style and repertoire of moves.

Instructor:
*Luciano Costa, a Brazilian dancer, teacher and performer committed to Latin and Afro style of dances for more than 20 years. Within that time he has widened his knowledge through dancing, teaching and training both in New Zealand and overseas.
Particularly, Luciano professes in Kizomba both TRADITIONAL KIZOMBA and URBAN KIZOMBA. He first encountered Kizomba in 2004 in Portugal and started taking private lessons with Angolan instructors.
Several years later and after moving to New Zealand Luciano consistently indulges in his efforts to showcase Kizomba dance in Auckland by teaching classes and returning overseas from time to time to teach workshops there.
Furthermore, Luciano has extended his class lessons and Kizomba principles to regular social dancing, genuinely dancing with all levels of dancers and allowing them to experience the wonderful feelings, rhythm and soulful passion of Kizomba.
