MEET OUR SPEAKERS

JUSTIN XIE

Justin is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant with over 12 years of expertise in finance and accounting. He currently works as the Group Financial Controller at 2121 Group Limited, a private equity company that focuses on investing in and developing businesses that have the potential to last for centuries. Prior to joining 2121 Group Limited, Justin held several senior positions at prominent companies, including Vodafone NZ and SkyCity Group Limited. Through his various roles, he has developed a deep understanding of financial management and strategic planning.

In addition to his professional achievements, Justin recently completed his MBA degree from the University of Auckland. This has further enhanced his skills and knowledge in business management, enabling him to make better-informed decisions and drive growth in his current role. He is a dedicated professional who is always looking for new ways to innovate and drive results.

PIYUSH MAKAN
Piyush is an experienced finance and management service professional with a passion for helping businesses succeed. He currently works as an Associate Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers with a focus on Business Development, Sales enablement and Marketing. Piyush started his career working for General Electric NZ (Now Latitude Finance) where he built a successful career in sales. He then went on to work for AMP NZ before moving to PwC as a senior associate in the tax pooling business.

Piyush graduated with a MBA from Auckland University of Technology in 2012, majoring in management and marketing. He has a wealth of experience in the finance and insurance industry and is well connected to the accounting and professional services industry professionals. In his current role, Piyush is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of all business development activities across New Zealand for the PwC Tax Pooling Business.

In addition to his professional experience, Piyush also is a board member of the Little Miracles Trust where he helps steer the board to continue their support for fragile babies. When not at work, you will find him either on his bike or fixing and building new things around the house, he is also a self-proclaimed masterchef.
