Gathering on the Green is back by popular demand

Over the afternoon you will hear from two well-known acts

Wellington band Rag Poets features Carl Evensen – vocals and percussion (Fourmyula),Vocalist on those early Kiwi radio hits such as “Nature and Turn Back the Wind” Clinton Brown – bass (Rocking Horse), “Thru the Southern Moonlight.” Rob Clarkson – drums , Alan Norman – accordion and 12 string guitar, who along with Clint and Rob played for many years with NZ’s seminal Country band The Warratahs, and Gary Creary guitar. Gary hails from Toronto and has extensive live and session experience including a stint in the fabled Hawks Nest Band. Rag Poets play many of those ‘heady’ Wellington hits from the 60’s & 70’s era, as well as new material they’ve written and a bunch of covers from the likes of John Prine, Boz Scaggs and Neil Young. The band thrives on big vocal harmonies as they continue to maintain the unique sound they’ve developed over the years. Their audiences love the ‘timeless’ music they play and the stories they tell.

And local favourite, Michael Krishnan Jones, will play the second set and take us in to the early evening. With his acoustic guitar and legendary versatility from his Johnny Cash impression known throughout the land, expect folky covers from the 60’s through to present day, Scott Mckenzie through to George Ezra. We love Mike!

The Le Grá caravan bar will be in operation serving Le Grá wines, a small selection of beers and cider and soft drinks and the Le Grá kitchen will be serving up their delish platters, these can be pre-ordered when you buy your ticket or got on the day.

In between sets there are fun games to play or you can sit back relax and enjoy the winery surroundings.
