Defining ourselves simplistically: we do not march, neither do we compete nor otherwise put ourselves under pressure. We’ve all been there, done that and now just want to relax, play popular music not only for our own pleasure but also so that we can see others enjoying the fruits of our passion. Such opportunities include the annual Kumeu Show, a number of Auckland’s retirement villages, parks, stages and the like.
There are ex Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery, Army and Air Force players as well as Navy band players. Not all players come with coveted titles – some are returning to playing after years of absence but all players have backgrounds in NZ community bands and some in British, Canadian and Australian bands as well.
Like a Vintage wine, we improve with age. Like our local classic cars, Kumeu Vintage Brass is a treasure to be seen, heard, enjoyed and applauded.
