The NZ Football Ferns will take to the field against Portugal in the first FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Play-Off Tournament match here in Hamilton.

The Play-Off Tournament for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is an exciting new competition introduced by FIFA. The Tournament, hosted in Aotearoa New Zealand from 17-23 February, will see 10 nations compete for the final three qualifying spots for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Waikato Stadium in Hamilton/Kirikiriroa and North Harbour Stadium in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau are the venues for the inaugural Tournament, featuring Cameroon, Chile, Chinese Taipei, Haiti, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Portugal, Senegal, and Thailand.

Adding to the excitement of the Play-Off Tournament, New Zealand’s Football Ferns will play three international friendlies around the qualifiers, two of which will be at Waikato Stadium against Portugal and Argentina.

The matches to take place at Waikato Stadium are:

Friday 17 February - Friendly (F1): New Zealand vs. Portugal (19:00)
Saturday 18 February - Group A (M1): Cameroon vs. Thailand (19:00)
Sunday 19 February - Group C (M3): Chinese Taipei vs. Paraguay (14:00)
Monday 20 February - Friendly (F3): New Zealand vs. Argentina (19:00)
Tuesday 21 February - Friendly (F4): Runner Up M1 vs. Runner Up M2 (19:00)
Wednesday 22 February - Group A (M5): Portugal vs. Winner M1 (19:30)
Thursday 23 February - Group C (M7): Winner M3 vs. Winner M4 (14:00)

Tickets for the Play-Off Tournament, as well as New Zealand’s friendlies against Portugal and Argentina, are now on sale via FIFA.com/tickets.
