Join us at Eskdale Reserve, one of Auckland's largest Significant Ecological Areas, and help protect our unique flora and fauna.

As regular volunteers led by expert ecologists, we're dedicated to preserving this special reserve and making a positive impact on the environment.

Since 1998, Kaipātiki Project has been working hard to restore and protect Eskdale Reserve. Our activities include restoration planting, pest control, water quality monitoring and weed removal, as well as further conservation efforts for kākahi/freshwater mussels, titiwai/glowworms, and pekapeka/bats. With plenty of opportunities to learn and explore, you'll discover the wonders of our native ngahere and actively preserve and protect the eco-system as a whole.

We are currently preparing areas that will become planting sites for our major planting days in June. We meet twice a week, and you're always welcome to join us when you can:

Did you know that spending time in nature has proven to increase wellbeing? Studies have shown that being in nature, and especially being active or getting your hands dirty can massively reduce stress and anxiety, improve overall health and brain function, and lead to increased happiness! These happy health effects can be significantly amplified when the experience is also sociable, so tell your friends to come along, or make new friends with our group of regular local volunteers!
