The Awash with Colour art group met many years ago whilst attending classes given by the Watercolour artists, Claudia Slaney, in Pukekohe. When Claudia finally gave up teaching to return to work, the group decided that, as they all enjoyed painting together, they would continue meeting once a week – hence Awash with Colour was formed!! Nowadays the group paint in Patumahoe, and regularly invite professional artists to come and tutor them in new techniques – or remind them of those that they might have forgotten! They have been exhibiting their work for the past 3 years – and are looking forward to doing so again this year at the Franklin Art Centre in Pukekohe.
