It's great to be back after a two-year hiatus! This is a very special event as it's 50 years since the first Auckland Folk Festival and it's still New Zealand's largest folk music and dance festival. If you have any memorabilia from previous AFF events that you would like to share, we would love to hear from you. Come check out the history and immerse yourself, your family and friends in plenty of "folksy stuff" at the Kumeu Showgrounds on Auckland Anniversary Weekend.

One of the oldest folk festivals in the Southern Hemisphere brings six stages of exceptional artists from around Aotearoa and from around the world.

You’ll be spoiled for choice as some of the best traditional and contemporary folk musicians and folk dancers come together to showcase our amazing genre. The Recorded Music Tui for Best Folk Artist is presented on Sunday, alongside performances from the finalists. Whatever your taste in folk music there will be something for you to savour.

If you want to participate in one of the blackboard concerts or numerous dance and musical workshops, so much the better. If you’d rather dance the night away, then there are venues for you. And in the wee small hours don’t forget to wander around and catch some of the magic jam sessions and sing-alongs.

Food trucks will be cooking up a storm all weekend, offering up a wide range of options, along with something to quench your thirst. Our Kids Stage and Zone is growing year by year and there will be other child activities and spaces.

To absorb the friendly family vibe, try camping for the weekend.

The Festival will kick off on Friday evening at 7pm, and music will run 'til late on Sunday night. Keep up to date with announcements and information by following us on Facebook, Instagram or joining our mailing list. For any unfortunate reason that the festival is unable to happen, your money will be refunded so please supply your name and contact details when purchasing your tickets.

Every visitor will be given a coloured wristband which should be worn at all times and will allow pass-outs if you need to go shopping just 5 minutes walk down the road.

PLEASE NOTE:
Tickets can only be purchased at the gate by using a credit or EFTPOS card.
All site vendors will accept electronic payments. There will be little or no cash on site.
Ticket purchasers will pay all card transaction fees.

Children under 10 are free.
RVs and caravans are welcome.
It's "first in" for a site in the specified camping locations.
There are NO powered sites.
There is communal water, toilets and shower facilities.
No pets are allowed except official assistance dogs.
Please plan to take all your rubbish home with you.
