This August, it’s time to argue the age-old debate - Can Love Save Us? Armed with only their comedic genius, impeccable wit, and intellectual nous, two teams of Festival comedians battle it out to find the answer in The Great Comedy Debate of 2022 presented by national law firm, Lane Neave!

Come prepared for good points and dirty tactics, hot takes and wild yarns, and a fight to the debatable death over this year’s moot: Love Will Save Us.

Keeping the show on the road as Moderator, we welcome the brilliant Kanoa Lloyd from THREE’s The Project, joined by:

Our affirmative team:

Dai Henwood – Captain of team love, star of 7Days and host of Lego Masters NZ, Dai is without a doubt a cheeky opponent, well known for using his smarts as well as sass.

David Correos – breakout star of season two’s Taskmaster NZ, Billy T Award winner and 2021 Fred Award finalist, David’s joyous and chaotic comedy style is sure to bring some unexpected antics and big laughs to stage.

Lana Walters - writer extraordinaire Lana has appeared on 7 Days and The Project, as well as being a mainstay of the improv troupe Snort. We can't wait to see her takes on love!

Our negative team:

Hayley Sproull – Captain of team shove, host of  Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Great Kiwi Bake-off and star of  Golden Boy, Hayley is a natural contender and is back for her second Great Comedy Debate!

Angella Dravid – Winner of Taskmaster NZ season one and Billy T Award winner, Angella has her own hot take on the world, is the master of long pauses and brilliantly funny truth bombs.

Josh Thomson - Appearing in Good Grief, Wellington Paranormal, as well as being a regular on Have you Been Paying Attention? and 7 Days, and The Project, Josh is sure to bring his cheeky gripes to the table.

It’s fast, factual (?) and funny as – with the audience deciding who’ll take the win on the night!

Join the audience and see it here first - this show will be filmed for audiences around the motu on THREE.
