Ōtautahi’s premiere Grim-Hop act Slimivich returns to the dank yet oh so dope confines of Ōtautahi Christchurch’s DARKROOM with their brand of grating electro-punk and rap inspired, barely suppressed rage on Saturday November 19th.

Slimivich will be joined by raucous surf punk rockers THE WENDYS, hip hop lyrical exceptionalists LOCAL ELEMENTS and ROARZ performing as FULL STEAM AHEAD, and electro goth doom duo NEFARIOUS DEEDS.

Is the eclectic new project from seasoned Ōtautahi metal vocalist Slim Jenkins of Tainted infamy. Owing more to a life long love of downbeat electronic sounds,  politically charged Rap and Hardcore Punk, SLIMIVICH doesn’t explode like previous metal releases, instead it radiates and crackles with all the allure of overloaded high voltage circuits, glowing and arcing in the dark. With the release of the projects’ first single, ‘Desert Shimmer’, darker release ‘Hysteria’ grabbing new listeners by the throat as well as live show backed by drums from fellow ex-Tainted member Mo Galloway; fans will not fail to be impressed by this reinterpretation of the same venom spitting Slim they came to know and love, or hate.

Ōtautahi’s most outrageous surf punk Lifeguards drag their sand be-speckled mix of surf rock and garage punk out to save the lives of the musically drowned once again. The boys are notorious for out of control high octane performances and their all or nothing attitude. Crowd favourites ‘Get In The Flags’, ‘Let’s Go To The Beach’ and ‘Dropping In’ will have you screaming your lungs out and sometimes even taking in their unique take on surf safety.

Local Elements & Roarz as Full Steam Ahead
The man who digs deep and spits slick from the city that shines, Local Elements has teamed up with fellow cat of great talenT Roarz to form Fullsteam Ahead. Fired up, these journeymen of the Ōtautahi hip-hop scene are swinging out hot off features at this years Christchurch Hip Hop Summit and Ōtepoti Hip Hop Hustle to show us punks how to entertain. Check out tracks ‘In the Know’, ‘Lochness’, ‘Pipe Dreams’, ‘Isolation’ and ‘Full Circle’ for a taste of conscious-minded lyrics, licked over smooth yet deeply layered boom bap.
