Breakthrough to Family Success: Parenting Teens with Love

It's not easy being a parent, and it's even tougher when the world your teenager lives in is constantly changing.

We all want our teenagers and adolescents to be happy and enjoy life, unfortunately, many teens are finding it hard to cope with the pressures they face every day.

Stress affects their education, their relationships with others, and their health. It may even threaten their life.

We all know the world we live in is changing: fast.

As parents, it’s hard to keep up.

As teens, it’s impossible.

What can you do?

If you want to help your teenager in the best way possible, the first step is to get educated. To help you, two parenting experts have joined up to run this exclusive event. One is a body language expert, the other is a family success coach.

In this 3-hour, face-to-face event teens and their parents will learn about the unique insights that can be gained from understanding body language and speech patterns.

Steph will be covering the ins and outs of body language: what we see (and how we interpret it), and what we give out to the world.

Objectives:
For both parents and teens to better understand how their own body language might be perceived and received by the other.
To explore and minimise regularly used non-verbals that exacerbate situations - replacing them with more productive versions
To notice more quickly the cause and effect of interactions with each other. How to read and decode micro-expressions and gestures that show the real-time emotions someone is feeling

Content
Explanation of baseline and the encode (what a person sends out to the world). The messages that you send out non-verbally say things about you as a person, and your type of communication style, intention, and motivation.
Easy to remember techniques to notice more about what is really happening in human interactions, and more importantly what you do and say next!
Takeaway breakthrough. Change the language, tone, and body language, and change the feelings about a person.

Melanie will be focusing on verbal communication and how it can contribute to building up or breaking down a relationship.

Objectives:
For parents and teens to gain an awareness of the 18 different roadblocks to communication that we use, often with the best of intentions.
To understand how these roadblocks fit with the Karpman Drama Triangle
To become aware of the element of choice and the Empowerment Triangle

Content:
Explain and explore the 5 categories with examples for each roadblock. You’ll hear yourself in here somewhere - guaranteed!
Link the roadblocks with the drama triangle and explain how which roadblocks contribute to each role in the drama triangle.
Flip the triangle to the Empowerment triangle so we have a creator, challenger, and coach.

Entry Includes:
The ticket price is for one parent and one teenager. You must attend together.
