While you are here, take some time to explore the rest of Huntly Museum’s history.

We have a small temporary display space while we await the completion of a new museum to be built at the Huntly Rail Platform.

Currently we have an extensive collection of coal mining artefacts, machinery, photographic archives and family history records.

The galleries show how the coalfields developed, about the settler families and the Ralph's Mine and the Taupiri Coal Mining Companies. The museum has a large collection of mining tools used during the old times and gives information about coal and about the mines in the surrounding area. You will also get an insight into the lifestyle of people living in this area during ancient times.
