On July, our premier Youth multicultural Music Festival will take place in Ōtautahi, bringing together accomplished musicians and representation from our community and allowing our youth participants to experience music education, cultural exchange and performance in a whole new way. The festival takes place over the course of 6 days, culminating in a performance extravaganza at the Christchurch Town Hall James Hay Theatre on 16 July In which we will see our young musicians share the stage with our esteemed music maestros.

The concert is a Feast of integrated performances of Eastern and Western Culture and Art. Professional musicians and students from New Zealand and Different countries Performing World-Class Quality Music join together to explore and experience a new taste in music. The theme of the evening party is Celebrating the success of the Festival, Chasing Music Dreams, and Singing about a Bright Future and embracing our Multicultural differences in a Beautiful Colourful World.

- UC professor of Music and internationally acclaimed violinist and violist, Dr Mark Menzies

- UC Head of Piano, Renowned pianist Tim Emerson

- Erhu master, Principal Advisor on Chinese folk Music and Creative Music for UC School of Music, Jeffrey Zhao

- UC’s head of voice studies, celebrated performer and teacher Zara Ballara

- Carlo Ballara – a popular violist and coordinator of the Specialist Music Programme strings course.

- Esmail Fathi, Iran Musician, an expert in traditional Persian instruments, both stringed and percussion

- Dr Keran Li Yangqin ,(Dulcimer)Musician From National University of China,A member of the World Yangqin Association.

- Wenjing Wang - Chinese Pipa and Guzheng Musician from the Sichuan Conservatory of music and Central Conservatory of music.

- Uma Varma. An Indian Classical Musician on Carnatic music, Specialising in vocals and the string instrument Veena.

- Liam Oliver, World string Instrumentalist Including the Indian Sitar, Persian Setar, Afghan Rabab and Arabic/Turkish Oud.
