This award-winning quartet will be returning to the Nivara lounge after a very successful year.
Between them, in 2021, they picked up 7 top awards at National competitions in Tauranga, Wellington and Auckland. At this night-time gig at Nivara they will be playing their own arrangements of jazz pieces, ranging from Joseph Kosma and Burt Howard from the 1950's to Joshua Redman in the 90s. plus many of their own compositions...one of which ('Poor America' by Lucas Kewell) won the award for most outstanding composition at the Wellington Jazz week.
The quartet is from west Auckland and comprise of Toby Barrett (sax) Max Barrett drums) Tyler Diprose (bass) and Lucas Kewell (piano/keys). Tickets are $20 and $15 (concessions) are available from eventfinda.co.nz and on door if not sold out.
