Get ready for a weekend of West African moves and grooves hosted by Kra KoTo Kra at Houghton’s Bush Camp in Muriwai. The excellent and much loved Robert Koffie Fugah will be joined by Camila Chicon, Dyames Ortiz & Sidharth Pagad, sharing rhythms and dances, teaching technique and repertoire, and offering a weekend immersed in drumming, dancing, and the vibes of West Africa.

Opening from 6.30pm on Friday 11th March, the camp will close with a performance night on Sunday the 13th. Bunk room accommodation until Monday 14th is included in the ticket price.

There are also limited camping and motorhome sites available for people who would prefer that.

Thanks to the generous help of Auckland Council Creative Communities New Zealand, we are able to offer this absolute feast of a weekend for $200, this includes a dinner to welcome the campers as well as tea and coffee. Breakfasts and dinners for the whole weekend can be added for $50 more if you are interested (excludes lunches and snacks).

We are also offering childcare for families who need it while they attend classes at $40 per child (under 12). If you choose this option, please let us know about your child (name/age/special requirements) so we can organise appropriately.

Our venue only allows for limited numbers, and the earlier we know the better, so sign up soon!

Beginners as always are most welcome, and drums are available for use for those who don’t have their own.

Under the Covid Protection Framework, Valid Vaccine Passes will be required for all participants and teachers. These will be verified with your ticket. Contact Tracing using the camp’s QR code will be
required.

There is limited parking so carpooling is recommended. Other logistical information will be sent after ticket purchase.
