Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi will host a Whangai i te hautapu ceremony, making a food offering to the Matariki star cluster, which rises as hot steam up into the skies. All are welcome to come witness this ceremony. This event is free entry, beginning at 5:30am in Civic Square.
