Join Maddy for a walk to explore the park and delve into our connection with nature.
This walk will cover a broad cross-section of the elements of Cornwall Park ecology and how all of nature's elements connect. We will explore things ranging from trees to birds and even our sheep poo! This walk is crafted for people who are new to the world of ecology and have a yearning to learn about the ecosystems that weave around us. It is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by caregivers.
Registration is essential and numbers are limited. Check the Eventbrite link above or email info@cornwallpark.co.nz.
Please dress for the weather conditions, wear sturdy shoes and bring a drink bottle.
Your guide
Maddy used to work at Cornwall Park as part of the Huia Lodge Discovery Hub team where she designed trails, wrote ecology content and greeted visitors. She now spends her time working at Kelmarna Gardens where she is the chief composter, managing Soil Factory, their community composting social enterprise. In this role she supports local businesses and residents to join the circular local food loop, reclaiming organic resources and creating living compost to support our food production.
