Centuries ago (that's the really, really, really olden days) whānau/families would create crests that showed what made them unique.
A crest is a bit like a picture with lots of shapes, colours and symbols in the shape of a shield.
We're inviting you to join us to design your own crest. Get creative and think about what makes your whānau different and special? Where did your family come from? What is your favourite part of being in your whānau?
You will be able to take it home and remember all the awesome things that make your whānau special. Just bring yourself and a parent or caregiver.
