Lopdell House Children's tour with art and haiku workshop
Get inspired by a Lopdell Precinct Tour, then attend a creative art and haiku poem workshop where you can interpret your ideas into art and poetry, on a rock!
Built as Hotel Titirangi back in 1930, Lopdell House is one of three buildings granted a Category 1 heritage listing in Titirangi. For this Auckland Heritage Festival event, participants embark on a tour of Lopdell House with local artist, Louise Stevenson and Ron Riddell of the Titirangi Poets, followed by a combined art and poetry (haiku) workshop at Te Uru to decorate a rock inspired by the tour, the beauty of the Waitākere ranges, and the heritage of Lopdell Precinct.
The 'haiku rocks' will be displayed at the Titirangi library over the October holidays. Suitable for ages 8+
