Interested in researching your family's history? The Library is a great place to start with access to many different resources to assist you on your genealogy project. As well as members of the Rotorua Genealogy Group running a drop-in service every Wednesday at 10am - 2pm, we have four events of interest.

Morning Tea with the Genealogy Group, Thursday 5th August at 10 - 11am - a chance to ask the experts.

Researching your Scottish ancestors, Thursday 12 August at 12.15 - 1pm. a talk by Morag Hughson offering tips and advice in this realm.

Self-publishing your Family History, Thursday 19 August, 12.15 - 1pm - Our panel will share their knowledge and experience of publishing.

Discovering Whakapapa. Thursday 26 August 1.30 - 2.15pm - Rangitihi Pene, Mātauranga Māori and Engagement Lead at Te Aka Mauri will assist those who are beginning to rangahau (research) their whakapapa.
