Summer letters

We invite you to join us at Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero for an afternoon of the creative and caring letter and poetry writing, to celebrate summer and the new year.

This session is an opportunity to play with words and connect with others via the arts of poetry, collage and letter writing – whether they are family, coworkers, long lost friends, departed relatives or fictional characters. We welcome and encourage you to share your words if you are comfortable doing so.

We will provide the materials for writing, word collaging and making envelopes.

After our session, we will collate and publish a zine containing the work of participants who are willing to share, which will enter the Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero zine collection.

This event is part of our 'Summer reading, sorted' programme and is free of charge and open to all.
